After receiving over 450 plays from writers all over the world, our selection committee chose six of their favorite plays, authored by award winning playwrights, to be performed for you at East Rockaway’s Bethany Congregational Church. A leaf-cutting ant, a shifty bishop, a woman confronted by her younger selves and prisoners on a march are just some of the characters in this short works festival.

Dan Bellusci

Phil & Ant
Dan is delighted to join Strongbox Theater for this year’s Short Play Festival. His recent credits include Sam Spade in The Maltese Falcon, Wadsworth in Clue,  Mickey Gorski in Greetings!, Harry Cooper in Night Of The Living Dead, Curley in Of Mice & Men, Dr Lyman Sanderson in Harvey, John Landis in Fifth Of July, Rodney in Small Mouth Sounds, Reverend Samuel Parris in The Crucible, Chick LaFountain in Times Square Angel, Allen in Cheaters, Mark McPherson in Laura, and Max in the original cast of The Home Workshop Club. FB: @danbellactingandmusic. As well as being a student of acting and improv theater, Dan is also a working musician who sings and plays several instruments, including guitar and ukulele.


Camryn Graves

is a NYC based actor, dancer and singer. Camryn has recently been seen dancing on The Today Show, at The Barclays Center for NY Liberty and acting in various independent plays and festivals around NYC. Favorite credits include Legally Blonde (Elle Woods), Summer and Smoke (Alma Winemiller) and The Beholden (Liz). BFA in Theatre Arts from Hofstra University. @camrynsummer camryngraves.com. Camryn is her happiest onstage and/or holding her cat, Juniper like a baby. 


Ed Grosskreuz

Bishop & Tree
Ed made his return to the Long Island theater scene last year with the Long Beach Short Play Festival. He is an English teacher at Wellington C. Mepham High School, and for his first 13 years teaching, Edward directed 44 productions for its Skull and Bones Drama Club. Favorite productions include A Christmas Carol, Freaky Friday, and In the Heights. Past acting credits include The Sound of Music (Max), Anything Goes (Evelyn), Blue's Clues Live! (Steve), Cabaret (Emcee), Bye Bye Birdie (Albert), Our Town (George), The Rocky Horror Show (Dr. Frank N. Furter), Godspell (Jesus). Edward's work with Mepham's S&BDC and work with local theaters earned him induction into Marist University's Theatre Hall of Fame. He’s performed at Carnegie Hall, Flagstar at Westbury Music Fair, and Staten Island’s St. George’s Theater. Edward is honored to join this production and the Strǒngbox Theater family.


Tori Hiotakis

Tori Hiotakis is a recent Kean University Theatre Conservatory graduate with a BFA in musical theatre performance. Select credits include The Tempest (Ariel), Godspell (Day by Day), Chicago (Roxie Hart), Into the Woods (Cinderella), The Cagebirds (The Medicated Gloom), Indecent (Dr. Hornig & Halina u/s), Legally Blonde (Serena), Curious Incident... (Judy Boone), and Pirates of Penzance (Kate). To follow her journey check out her Instagram: @torihiotakis. Tori is a storyteller, drawn to creativity and artistic expression. She loves to push the boundaries of art and explore every facet of the human experience.


Savannah Jean Moore

Savannah grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and moved to New York to pursue her theatrical passions, recently graduating from LIU Post with her BFA in Musical Theatre! Some favorite roles include: Oklahoma! (Laurie), Legally Blonde (Margot), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie), Men on Boats (Dunn), come back for an hour (Arthur). Off the stage you’ll find Savannah behind the scenes of the Today Show where she works as a Stagehand and Stage Manager!


Hillary Kass Nussdorf

Hillary has been active in all aspects of theatre including acting, directing, and choreographing. She has performed in productions both in NYC and on Long Island including "Plaza Suite", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", "Twelve Angry Jurors", Catch Me If You Can", "The Man Who Came to Dinner", "The Odd Couple","The Dining Room", "Curious Savage", "Anybody for Murder", "Arsenic and Old Lace" and "Miracle on Memory Lane" (an original short play) as well as many others. She has choreographed many musicals including "Oklahoma!", "Guys and Dolls", "South Pacific", "Gypsy", "Music Man", "My Fair Lady" and "Fiddler on the Roof" to name a few. Her directing credits include both dramatic plays as well as musicals.Other credits are film, television and commercials, including appearances on "All My Children" and "The Trial of Billy Jack". Hillary is delighted to be working with John Torres once again!


John Payne

L.B.
John has been around the LI acting world for quite a while. He goes as far back as “Fiddler” directed by Barry Kaplan, and has done shows with the now defunct “Hempstead Rep” as well as “ The Stage” in Merrick and Long Beach Theater Guild. Favorite roles include Eddie Carbone in View From the Bridge, Duncan in McBeth, and Claudius in Hamlet. He’s thankful to Jill for her unending support.


June Peralta

June has performed in numerous productions including  Mousetrap: Miss Casey, Witness for the Prosecution: Romaine , Annie: Lily St. Regis, Gypsy: Tessie Tura,  Lovers and Other  Strangers: Kathy and Susan, Lend Me a Tenor: Maria and Bermuda Avenue Triangle: Tess. She was last seen in The Long Beach One Act Play Festival in May 2024, as Marjorie in Judith Rabinor's one act play, The Secret, based on her memoir, The Girl in the Red Boots: Making Peace With My Mother. June was so taken with both the play and the memoir that she organized a book club at her home where the author facilitated a discussion and writing about the personal complexities and memories with mother daughter relationships. June's advice to her younger self would be to take risks, follow you heart and regret nothing because everything is a learning experience that shapes who you are today.


Sarah Spagnoulo

Sarah is a local LI actor who is thrilled to be working with the Strong Box Theater community! Off-Off Broadway: One Empire Under God- the Tank Theater, Subway Seat- Vino Theater, It's my Brooklyn, Too!- 2nd Act Players. Local credits: Last Days of Judas Iscariot- LITC, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?- Merrick Theater, Richard the Third- Eastline Theater. Sarah received her BFA in Acting from Adelphi University and continues her studies with TK Studio, HB Studio, and the Adult Film Company. Thank you to my wonderful family for all the love and support!


Ryan Justine Stewart

Ryan is a student at NYC’s Professional Performing Arts School studying musical theater. Her favorite roles include Reggie Fluty in The Laramie Project and Matthias of Galilee in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Alongside her passion for acting, Ryan also loves to sing, dance, and paint.


Reggie Street

Reggie Street made her Long Island debut as Esther in Intimate Apparel.  She has studied her craft at several studios in New York and The Bristol Old Vic in the UK.  Her credits include TV, film and theater.  June 2022, Reggie worked on her first solo show, which premiered at the NY Summerfest and also produces an annual variety show called Cool Stories in Manhattan.  As a Long Island resident, Reggie enjoys gardening, writing, biking and flea market hopping.    www.reggiestreet.com


John Torres

Rabbi
JOHN has been making theater for a while, performing in or directing shows across LI and NYC, including appearing in and directing plays for the Northport One Act Play Festivals and serving as Artistic Director for the two Long Beach Short Play Festivals. His 2022 production of Sweat for The Collective was named Best Play by Broadway World Long Island and also recognized for Best Direction of a Play. John has taught acting for teens and adults, and secured grants to fund productions for several nonprofit theater companies. He cannot wait for the Strongbox mainstage to open next year, which will be an absolute jewel for theater in the NY metro area. John thanks this cast and crew for their time and humbling talent. Theater isn't for everyone, but when it's for you, there’s simply nothing else like it! Much gratitude to Lucy, without whom, none of this ever happens. 


Harley Yeager

Eric & Edward
Harley Yeager is a versatile actor with a background in video games, voice-over dubbing, and commercials. He’s recognized for his work in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 +2 & 3 + 4, and for his dubbing in Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux and Netflix’s Reality Z. A proud holder of a BFA in Acting from Adelphi University, Harley has showcased his talent in shows like The Blacklist, Jessica Jones, Happy!, Evil Lives Here, and A Crime to Remember.
