The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts will Reveal Addition of 112 Children's Handprints to Grow Up Great Gallery

In a partnership with four local child development centers and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, PNC Bank will reveal the addition of 112 children's handprints to the PNC Grow Up Great Gallery, a visual installation at the Kauffman Center and a gift to the community. The colorful mural now showcases more than 300 handprints of Pre-K students from Saint Mark Child and Family Development Center and Metro Early Learning Center in Missouri, Growing Futures Early Education Center and El Centro Academy for Children in Kansas.

If your washer and dryer sing to you it may be a bad reaction to medication or you may be at the wonderfully humorous and thought-provoking musical production of CAROLINE, OR CHANGE, which opened Saturday night November 9 at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center in Overland Park. The Spinning Tree Theatres Kansas City premiere, with book and lyrics by Tony Kushner and music by Jeanine Tesori, runs through November 24. Spinning Tree Artistic Director Michael Grayman-Parkhurst directs this musical incorporating blues, Motown, Jewish melodies, and folk music.

Cruise over to the White Theatre for their wonderful production of ANYTHING GOES now playing through November 17. ANYTHING GOES opened on Saturday, November 2 to kick off the 15th season of the theater located at the Jewish Community Center. Tim Bair directs this whimsical musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The original book was by P. G. Wodehouse and Guy Bolton and was heavily revised by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The new book is by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman.

MTH Theater Reveals Cast and Creatives for a Spectacular Christmas Show

The MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced casting and additional details for its upcoming production of A SPECTACULAR CHRISTMAS SHOW. The original Revue is directed and choreographed by Ashley Pankow, making her professional directorial debut. The entirely Kansas City based company features Keshana Cook, Shelby Floyd, Nora Hennessy, Timothy Michael Houston, Mason Kelso, Noah Lindquist, Mandy Morris, and Robert Vardiman. Musical direction for the production will be provided by Mark Ferrell, who will also play piano. Mr. Ferrell is joined by Noah McNair on bass, Tod Barnard on drums, and Cindy Egger on guitar. The production team also includes lighting design by Art Kent, sound design by John Story, costume design by Shannon Smith, scenic coordiation by Mark A. Exline,  and stage management by Tenley Pitonzo.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2019/20 season with a beloved holiday tradition, Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL. This year's production is an adaptation by Geoff Elliott with direction from KCRep Associate Artistic Director Jason Chanos. A CHRISTMAS CAROL begins previews Friday, November 22, opens Saturday, November 30 at 8 pm, and continues through Sunday, December 29. Performances take place at Spencer Theatre on the UMKC campus.

Darren Sextro who directed A DOLL'S HOUSE at the City Stage, where it was produced by the Kansas City Actor's Theatre directs the sequel which takes place 15 years after the end of the original play.
