Music Director –Joseph & The Technicolor Dreamcoat (Ages 10-18) - Raue Center School For The Arts

Position: Raue Center School For The Arts Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – Music

Director

Hours: Will be coordinated with the Director and Choreographer

Stipend: $2800

Important Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat dates:

Auditions: Week of January 5th - 8th

Rehearsals: Begin the week of January 12th - February 20th

3 - 4 nights a week with 1 day possibly Sunday. Tentatively 6 - 9 PM

Tech: Sunday, February 22nd - Thursday, February 26th

Shows: (2 weekends)

February 27 @ 8 PM

February 28 @ 2 PM & 7 PM

March 1 @ 2 PM

March 6 @ 8 PM

March 7 @ 2 PM & 7 PM

March 8 @ 2 PM

Raue Center School For The Arts (RCSA) is excited to continue its education program and is searching for a

highly-organized, dynamic, imaginative, and reliable Music Director for the RCSA Production of Joseph and

the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. An ideal candidate should possess outstanding interpersonal abilities,

collaborate effectively with young artists, and be a team player. Alongside these fundamental skills and

qualities, we need a Music Director candidate with the subsequent skills that would allow for demonstrating

the following responsibilities:

Music Director Responsibilities:

● Confidence and knowledge of accompanying on piano to teach music.

● Be part of an amazing team that will oversee the production, and the students enrolled.

Providing positive energy, attitude, and help where needed.

● Develop and lead rehearsals with students to ensure that they are well-prepared for using

tracks to perform as well as being confident for the performances.

● Able to work with students ages 10 – 18 and all skill levels.

● The Music Director will lead the music rehearsal process for the students to smoothly

transition to using tracks.

● Teach students the necessary techniques, and performance skills needed to be successful.

● Attend and oversee all music rehearsals, ensuring that students are learning and developing

their singing skills.

● Work collaboratively with the creative team to create and enhance the vision of the team.

● Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills when teaching students the

music to the show.

● Once students have learned the music to the show, transitioned to tracks, the music director

will plan with the creative team to add any review days and specific times to make sure the

vocals are continuing to develop and make any necessary fixes to music.

● The Music Director should plan to conduct the students during performances and run the

tracks for the show.

● All production team members and designers will need to participate in strike, immediately

following the final performance (Sunday, March 8th)
