The Houston Chamber Choir, under the direction of Dr. Betsy Cook Weber, will open its 2025-26 season with a performance of Mozart's Requiem, accompanied by members of the Houston Symphony. This concert will also feature Haydn's Te Deum and an excerpt from Johann Michael Haydn’s Applausus. Reflecting on the historical context of the Requiem, which was incomplete at Mozart's death, the performance aims to evoke the spirit of its early renditions with a small choir and orchestra. The event will take place at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church on September 6, 2025.
