Gounod's Faust arrives in a dance-infused production from director David McVicar, reimagining the title character as a tormented composer in Belle Époque Paris who makes a fateful pact with Mephistopheles in exchange for youth and sensual pleasure. Pretty Yende makes her company debut as Marguerite, joined by Matthew Polenzani as Faust and Ildebrando D'Arcangelo as Mephistopheles. Giacomo Sagripanti, music director of the Tbilisi Opera House, conducts in his HGO debut.
