Student Film Screening Breaking Bonds Held At Main Street Theater 12/5

When a special ops field agent is ambushed, it sends a shockwave of turmoil jeopardizing the whole operation and everyone's bonds. Main Street Theater's Kids On Stage program presents the screening of Breaking Bonds, a film made by the students of the Fall Filmmaking Class with instructors Art Ornelas and Amelia Rico of RicOrnelProductions. Seven Houston-area highschoolers, currently the students of MST's 4th Kids On Stage Filmmaking class, created the film.
The screening will be held Sunday, December 5 at 3:30pm at Main Street Theater - Chelsea Market, located at 4617 Montrose Boulevard. Admission is free. Reservations are not required. There is a meet-and-greet with the actors at 3:00pm before the screening.
About the Students

The cast is comprised of seven children from the Houston area and is as follows: Ron Calzolari (77019), Destiny Duhon (77584), Rhys Griffin (77062), Jack Porter (77030), Joe Ridyard (77479), Jonathan Steiger (77584), and Gabrielle Wojtowicz (77024).

About Kids On Stage

Kids On Stage (KOS), now in its 22nd season, has been designed to spark a lifelong appreciation of theater by encouraging young people to participate in all aspects of play production, from movement and monologues to stagecraft and theater history. The curriculum teaches essential skills such as creative thinking, teamwork, self-confidence, and communication-skills that enhance the overall learning process. Through year-round classes, outreach programs, and camps both on-site and at satellite locations, students develop their voices, bodies, and imaginations in a challenging and fun curriculum, taught by professional artists and arts educators.

Main Street Theater's KOS program offers a wide range of classes for students of all skill levels, including individual audition coaching sessions, movement and dance classes, comedy improv classes, high school workshops, and a Summer Performing Arts Camp throughout the summer. The KOS Rehearsal and Performance system includes classes for students at two levels: those who are ready to audition for plays for the public and those who want to hone their skills by producing a play in a "lab" context for family and friends.
