BREAKDOWN

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.

Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and dressing rooms.

NEIL SEDAKA / LOU ADLER / RIGHTEOUS BROTHER / ENSEMBLE: 20s-30s, male-identifying, Caucasian. Tenor (B3-G#4). Strong high rock tenor, doubles as young singer/songwriter and half of the world-famous duo. Sings: “Oh, Carol” and “You've Lost That Loving Feeling.”

RIGHTEOUS BROTHER / NICK / ENSEMBLE: 20s-30s, male-identifying, Caucasian. Bass (F2-Eb4). Strong bass / baritones, doubles as half of the world-famous duo and session player friend of Carole. Sings: “You've Lost That Loving Feeling.”

LUCILLE / SHIRELLE / ENSEMBLE: 20s-30s, female-identifying, Black. Alto (A3-Db5). Charismatic singer doubles as Donny’s assistant and part of the girl-group, The Shirelles. Sings: “Will You Love Me Tomorrow.”

LITTLE EVA / SHIRELLE / ENSEMBLE: 20s-30s, female-identifying, Black. Alto (Bb3- E5). Charismatic singer doubles as the “Locomotion” singer and part of the girl-group, The Shirelles. Sings: “Locomotion” and “Will You Love Me Tomorrow.”

JANELLE WOODS / SHIRELLE / ENSEMBLE: 20s-30s, female-identifying, Black. Alto (B3-D5). Charismatic singer doubles as the “Locomotion” singer and part of the girl-group, The Shirelles. Sings: “One Fine Day” and “Will You Love Me Tomorrow.”

THE DRIFTERS / ENSEMBLE: 20's-30's, male-identifying, Black. Lead singer: tenor, (Eb3-Eb5). Appealing, charismatic singers, plays The Drifters, who are heavily featured in songs including “Up on the Roof” and “On Broadway.”

MARILYN WALD / ENSEMBLE: 20s-30s, female-identifying, Caucasian. Alto (G3-C5). Brill Building singer who has an affair with Gerry. Sings: “Pleasant Valley Sunday.

THE BODYGUARD

Director/Choreographer: Christopher Campbell

SEEKING:

BACKUP SINGERS: 18-30, All ethnicities, female-identifying. VERY strong vocalists to serve as backup singers to Rachel Marron. Comfortable holding solo vocal parts. A strong ear and dance ability is a plus. Rachel understudy will likely come from this group.

DANCE ENSEMBLE: 18-30, All Ethnicities, all gender identities. Fantastic contemporary dancers with technique who sing. Will serve as backup dancers to Rachel Marron and play various roles throughout the show.

JERSEY BOYS

SEEKING:

JOE PESCI / ENSEMBLE: Male-identifying, Caucasian, 20-35. Must be 5’9” or shorter; young, energetic; A strong singer; will understudy role of FRANKIE VALLI.

BARRY BELSON / ENSEMBLE: Male-identifying, Black, 20-49. Strong singer to play various roles (friends, producers, etc); strong tenor to high C, with a strong falsetto to G above high C; has the ability to riff in rhythm-and-blues style.

MARY & OTHERS: Female-identifying, Caucasian, 20-39. Strong singer and dancer; Frankie’s wife; tough, seen it all, Italian, Jersey girl; she’s got a killer sense of humor; doubles as a variety of other roles, including member of a 60s style girl group; strong belt useful; high straight tone soprano also useful but not required.

LORRAINE & OTHERS: Female-identifying, 20-35. Fabulous, singer, and dancer with flexible vocal registers to play a variety of roles (the many girlfriends of The Four Seasons, etc); should fit well together a la 60s band Shangri-las and be believable as tough-as-nails Jersey girls; comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies; has strong belt.

FRANCINE & OTHERS: Female-identifying, 20-37. Fabulous, singer and dancer with flexible vocal register to play a variety of roles (Frankie’s teenage daughter, the many girlfriends of The Four Seasons, etc); should fit well together a la 60s band Shangri-las and be believable as ‘tough-as-nails’ Jersey girls; comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies and has a very strong high belt.

ENSEMBLE: Male-identifying, Any ethnicity, 20-59. Strong singers to play various roles (friends, producers, etc); ability to play guitar, drums, or another instrument a plus. Dances or moves very well.

ENSEMBLE: Female-identifying, Any ethnicity, 20-35. Fabulous, singers with flexible vocal registers to play a variety of roles (the many girlfriends of The Four Seasons, etc); should fit well together a la '60s band Shangrilas and be believable as tough-as-nails Jersey girls; comfortable with traditional four part harmonies; all three women need to belt and/or have strong mix as one track belts up to F natural and two tracks also need high soprano.
