BREAKDOWN. Videos should be emailed via WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Hightail. We will be accepting October 25-November 9, 2022 at 5:00pm PDT. All actors must provide a digital headshot, resume, and audition form to be
considered for casting.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS :

Actors should prepare a 3-minute audition consisting of either 2 contrasting monologues or 1 monologue and a brief song of their choosing. You may also choose from the accompaniment provided.

Maytag Virgin

JACK KEY – (thirties/forties) High school physics teacher. Southern. Nearly unflappable. Even-keeled. A man of character.

ELIZABETH “LIZZY” NASH – (thirties/forties) High school English teacher. Southern. Endearingly neurotic. Strong-willed. Quick-witted and bold.


Stede Bonnet: The F*cking Pirate Musical

Stede Bonnet: “The Gentleman Pirate”- Worst pirate in the world. Literally woke up one day and decided to abandon his riches and family to become a pirate. Dramatic, depressed, and approaches newness with naivety and delight. High baritone.

Blackbeard (Pirate 4): Female. One of history’s most terrifying pirates who utilizes theatricals to intimidate her opponents. Alto/Mezzo/Belt.

Elsie: Female, 20-30. A bartend who disguises herself as a pirate to blend onto the ship. She wants to avenge her family against Blackbeard. Brave, tenacious. Alto/Mezzo/Belt.

Israel /Neptune: Inspired by Israel Hands, one of Blackbeard’s most trusted mates. An incredibly accomplished pirate, the world has darkened him and he longs for something more. Baritone.

Pirate 1 (Gerald/Barnaby): Incredible comedic timing, plays multiple pirates. Low Alto.

Pirate 2 (Williams/Stuart/Bird): Incredible comedic timing, plays multiple pirates. Puppetry experience a plus. High Baritone

Pirate 3 (Noland/Martin/Thomas Porter): Incredible comedic timing, plays multiple pirates. High Baritone/Low Alto.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

MARTHA - Please note this role has been precast. A large, boisterous woman, 52, looking somewhat younger. Ample, but not fleshy.

GEORGE - Please note this role has been precast. Her husband, 46. Thin; hair going gray.

HONEY - 26, a petite blond girl, rather plain.

NICK - 28, her husband. Blond, well put-together, good-looking
