SUMMARY: Nerd + Math = Sex. What's love got to do with quantum physics? Professor Bert Rufus is awkward with women – especially with the alluring physicist Alys Smith. Bert invents a secret device that will shock the world...and might even get him laid.
SEEKING:
BERT:
Male. All ethnicities. (earlymid 30s). Lead. Socially awkward physicist. Nicelooking/appealing, but doesn’t know the rules of how to attract women. Has a crush on Alys, another professor, whom he’s known since high school. Great sense of comedy.
FREDDIE:
Male. all ethnicities. (earlymid 30s) Lead. Bert’s best friend and partner in physics. More wellrounded, relaxed, more ‘normalseeming’ than Bert. More relaxed, less neurotic. Struggling to balance his physics career and marriage to Eve, who is not a scientist. Frustrated, at a crossroads.
EVE:
Female. All ethnicities. (earlymid 30s) A writer, teaches English. Married to Freddie, whom she loves, but their relationship is in trouble. Friends with Alys, and confides in her. Appealing, warm, earthy, girlnextdoor.
RAND:
Male. All ethnicities. (late 30searly 40s) Alpha Male. Top dog in the department. Handsome. Skilled with both physics and women. Full of confidence and ego. Early tenure, drives a Porsche, Men hate him and women love him. Dating Alys, whom he actually really likes. Loves to tease Bert and Freddie. Usually the smartest guy in the room. Actor has to balance the line between arrogance and likeability.
ALYS:
Female. All ethnicities. (earlymid 30s) Sexy, Smart, intimidating, beautiful. A prodigy. Seems to have no fear of men or science. Likes to keep men offbalance. A bit of an oddball, a genius in a sexy package. Interesting, devious, manipulative, mysterious. A beautiful comedienne.
ED:
Male. All ethnicities. (70s80s) A living physics legend. Sweetnot stern or intimidating. Considered (by physicists) to be the smartest person alive. Downtoearth, easygoing manner seems mismatched to his reputation. When he was young, he met Albert Einstein at Princeton in 1954.
