PREPARATION

Please be warmed up and prepared to dance at the beginning of the call. Women bring flat jazz shoes/sneakers plus have character heels with you just in case. Men bring character/jazz shoes or sneakers. Bring book of music in case you are asked to stay and sing. Bring an updated headshot and resume stapled together.

NEWSIES: (All Gender Identities to play Male-Presenting and Female-Presenting Newsies, Late teens-Mid 20s) Strong Dancer/Singers to play various Newsies. Dancers should have strong ballet, jazz technique with a modern, hip-hop edge. Newsies are tough and street-smart with gregarious hearts they reveal only to their closest friends. Tap a plus. Tumbling a plus.

FEMALE-PRESENTING ENSEMBLE: (Female-Presenting, 20s–30s.) Strong Singer/Actors to play various Ensemble roles including Showgirl, Nun, Bowery Beauty and Hannah. Good movers, with a sense of period/style.
