Lake George Dinner Theatre will be in NYC for additional EPAs April 13th & 15th (see separate casting notices). Equity actors are sought for roles in Adirondack Theatre Festival and Lake George Dinner Theatre's 2026 seasons. Producers will run all aspects of the audition.

PREPARATION

Please prepare EITHER 16 bars of an uptempo song plus a short comedic monologue OR a 1–2 minute contemporary monologue only (comedic or dramatic). If singing, please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. Please also bring TWO copies of your headshot & resume, with each one stapled together.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. Always bring your Equity Membership card to auditions.

For Lake George Dinner Theatre:

THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES

“The Marvelous Wonderettes” is a jukebox musical featuring pop songs from the 50s & 60s. Act I takes place at their 1958 high school prom and Act II jumps ahead to their 10-year reunion. Lake George Dinner Theatre is a small venue and actors will not be wearing body mics. This show will be performed with piano only. All roles open to any race or ethnicity.

First Rehearsal: Monday, June 22
Opening Night: Friday, July 10
Closing Night: Saturday, Sept 5

Cindy Lou (18, 28). Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano. Belt: E3–F5. She believes she is the prettiest girl at Springfield High and expects to be Prom Queen. She acts out against her best friend Betty Jean when things don’t go her way. She makes the biggest change between Acts I & II, having learned lessons of true love and loss. Sings melody line on most songs. Songs include: Allegheny Moon, Son of a Preacher Man, and Maybe.

Missy (18, 28). Vocal Range: Soprano. G3–A5. The over-achiever of the group: controlled, concerned with perfection, head of Prom Decorations Committee, smitten with her music teacher. Wide range, floating high vocals and belting. Songs include: Secret Love, You Don’t Own Me, and Wedding Bell Blues.

Betty Jean (18, 28). Vocal Range: Alto with strong low range. D3–E5. The class clown and tomboy, vying for attention with Cindy Lou. Possibly has feelings for Cindy Lou. Cindy Lou steals Betty Jean’s boyfriend, causing prom friction until they reconcile at the reunion. Songs include: Lipstick on Your Collar, I Only Want To Be With You, and That’s When The Tears Start.

Suzy (18, 28). Vocal Range: Mezzo-Alto. G3–E5. Gum-chewing, happy-go-lucky, best friends with Missy. In love with the lighting operator, surprised when named Prom Queen. Frustrated and pregnant in Act II. Requires excellent part singer and expert comic actor. Songs include: Stupid Cupid, Hold Me, Thrill Me, and Rescue Me.

THE 39 STEPS

“The 39 Steps” is a comedic adaptation of the Alfred Hitchcock movie. Fast-paced and action-packed; requires sharp comedic timing and physical stamina. All roles open to any race or ethnicity.

First Rehearsal: Monday, Aug 31
Opening Night: Friday, Sept 18
Closing Night: Saturday, Oct 17

Richard Hannay — 40s, male-presenting. Any race or ethnicity. 1930s leading man type: suave, dashing, debonair, intelligent, resourceful, with a touch (or more) of self-regard. Must maintain an upper-class British accent and be an adept physical comic.

Annabella / Pamela / Margaret — 30s–40s, female-presenting. Any race or ethnicity. Primarily a classic 1930s British ingenue, but also plays a German woman and a Scottish farmer. Must perform applicable accents and create three distinct characters; adept physical comic.

Clown #1 & Clown #2 — 30s–50s. Any gender, race, or ethnicity. These two portray over 150 roles and are essentially everyone the two leads are not. Must be physically agile with great stamina, have many accents (especially European) and voices. Exemplary comedic timing required. Must be able to lift set pieces and move adroitly on stage.

JOB

by Max Wolf Friedlich. JOB is a psychological thriller that zooms in on two careerists of different generations, genders, and political paradigms to examine what it means to be a citizen of the internet and our obligation to help the people who need it most. Takes place in 2020.

First Rehearsal: June 2

Closing Night: June 28

Jane — Female-presenting, 25–30, white. A young professional living in the Bay Area, very self-aware, fashionable (wouldn’t be out of place at SoulCycle).

Loyd — Male, sixties or older, white. Lived in the East Bay his whole life, hippie-adjacent look, high opinion of himself (wouldn’t be out of place at a Grateful Dead show).

MOTHER. DAUGHTER. FATHER. SON.

by Douglas Lyons. A world premiere play going through rewrite in rehearsals. A funny and deeply human story of two neighboring families navigating caregiving, loss, identity, and control. Takes place in present day.

Edna McCray — Sneaky, defiant, inquisitive. A woman of faith with contradictions. 60s–70s, Black-identifying woman.

Peach McCray — Protective, sarcastically-intelligent, elegant and exhausted. Late 30s–early 40s, Black-identifying woman.

Bill Bell — Quirky, stubborn, friendly and in denial. 60s–70s, white-identifying man.

Eli (Elliot) Bell — Conflict-avoidant, educated, persistent and patient until he’s not. Late 30s–early 40s, white-identifying man.

COME FROM AWAY

Book, Music & Lyrics by Irene Sankoff & David Hein. Come From Away is a joyful, fast-paced, foot-stomping Tony Award–winning musical that tells the true story of the passengers from 38 planes who found themselves grounded in Gander, Newfoundland on September 11, 2001, and the people of Gander who welcomed them with open arms.

Closing Night: August 7

All roles are part of the ensemble and require extensive doubling. Performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities are encouraged to audition.

Hannah / Others — Female, 30s–50s, any ethnicity. Quietly powerful; an emotional anchor of the story. Vocal Range: G3–F5. Excellent dramatic actor with controlled, expressive singing.

Beverly / Annette / Others — Female, 30s–50s, any ethnicity. Confident, compassionate airline pilot with authority and warmth. Vocal Range: A3–F5. Strong contemporary musical theatre voice; commanding presence.
