SEEKING
Equity actors for roles in TheaterWorksUSA Fall 2022 tour of PETE THE CAT'S BIG HOLLYWOOD ADVENTURE (see breakdown).
ALL ACTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO AUDITION, REHEARSE, AND TRAVEL FROM NYC. Some tours will be traveling to Canada, so actors must be able to travel outside of the United States. Some contracts would include an Artist Activity.
ALL ACTORS WILL BE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS. Actor/ASMs are required to unload/load, setup and/or strike the set. No single piece of scenery shall exceed such proportions of height or weight as to make it impossible to be carried reasonably by two members of the company.
INSTRUCTIONS
Please prepare a short contemporary up-tempo Musical Theatre/Pop song that showcases range. You may also use the accompaniment at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11dj2rX2ZV2AR2x39CNpI_jsZudgGDf8A?usp=sharing . Sing in the octave that best suits your voice. Email your video submission link and your headshot/resume (one pdf) with the title of the show in the subject line.

PETE THE CAT'S BIG HOLLYWOOD ADVENTURE:
Story Line: Lights! Cameras! Action! When Pete the Cat and his buddy Callie sneak into the Hollywood Studios, they get lost in the world of the movies! Join Pete, Callie, Ethyl the Apatosaurus, and Robo-Pete & others in this rockin’ new musical adventure that features several fun-filled books from the PETE THE CAT book series by Kimberly Dean and James Dean.
The actors will rehearse in NYC and preview tour the show at various venues local to NYC (including other parts of NY/NYC, NJ, CT, Long Island, and the tri-state area). Some overnights may be included.
PETE THE CAT: CHARACTER IS MALE. Pete the Cat is a super zen rockin’ cat with blue fur. Dreamy and enthusiastic. He is the life of the party but sometimes gets carried away. Easily distracted. Best buds with Callie the Calico. Tenor. B to high Ab. PERFORMERS OF ALL ETHNICITIES ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT.
CALLIE THE CAT: CHARACTER IS FEMALE. Callie the Cat is a brainy cat who loves the movies. Best buds with Pete. Observant and kind and a quick study with any subject or skill. She is laser focused and unafraid to lay down the law with her friend, Pete the Cat. A to Eb (belt or mixy belt). BIPOC+/GLOBAL MAJORITY PERFORMERS ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT
ETHYL & OTHERS: CHARACTER IS FEMALE. Ethyl is a shy dinosaur who opens up to PETE and CALLIE on their adventure. Sings a lament. Mezzo-soprano belter who can bring the house down. Has excellent comedic timing and presence. Doubles as a bus driver, tourist, Pirate SkullnBones, Little Squirrel, Cowgirl, and Marcy. Mezzo-belt G to C (solo) and D (ensemble). BIPOC+/GLOBAL MAJORITY PERFORMERS ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT.
SECURITY GUARD & OTHERS: CHARACTER IS FEMALE OR NONBINARY. A seemingly tough security guard who loves Hollywood, actually a big producer in disguise. Has excellent comedic timing and presence. A physical chameleon who can play a wide variety of character roles including: Mrs. Calico, Pirate Whiskers, Terri the Pterosaur, Gus the Platypus, Lisa, NASA Lady, and Big Producer. Mezzo. G to Eb. PERFORMERS OF ALL ETHNICITIES ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT.
ROBO-PETE & OTHERS: CHARACTER IS MALE. ROBO-PETE is Pete's over-zealous best friend who is the BEST at everything he does. A vocal and physical chameleon who can play several other character roles in the track. Can creatively sustain robotic behavior as well as support and manipulate the tentacles of a large sea monster drummer. Has excellent comedic timing and presence. Tenor (Ab) one low A as Mo (not solo) — one comic high Ab (could be mixed). PERFORMERS OF ALL ETHNICITIES ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT.
