Equity actors for roles in ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE, A NEW MUSICAL.

No roles will be understudied.

PREPARATION

A one-minute musical theatre piece in the Golden Age style. Accompanist will be provided. If submitting and you need the required Equity Audition cuts, they can be found here:

Rehearsals will take place at the Capital City Theatre CORE space in Middleton, WI. All performances will be at the MItby Theater at Madison College.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, A NEW MUSICAL

SEEKING:

George Bailey (age: 28-40) - The famous leading man in our story who learns what his life would be like if he were never born. 17-40 throughout the course of the show. Voice Type: Lyric Baritone- A2- A4

Mary Bailey- (age: 28-40)- George’s wife and caretaker of the Bailey family. 16-40 throughout the course of the show. Soprano (with some light belting): A3-B5

Harry Bailey- (age: 17-27)-George’s younger brother who goes on to become a WWII hero. A sweet kid-brother type who idolizes George. Voice type: Tenor

Violet (age: 18-27)- The small-town bad girl who carries an unrequited torch for George. Voice Type: Alto

Ruth/Hortense (age: 22-30)- Harry’s wife Ruth, a bank teller who is part of the Andrews Sisters-style number. Doubles various other roles. Voice type: Soprano.

Mrs.Hatch/Gladys/Ensemble (age: 38-58)- This track will play many roles throughout the show including Mary’s mother, Potter’s secretary and is featured in the Andrews Sisters-style number. Voice type: Soprano

Mr. Bailey/Joseph- (age: 40-60)- George’s father, Joseph the head Angel. Voice type: Baritone/Bass

Tom/Bank Examiner- (age: 36-60)- Bank Examiner who investigates the Bailey bank's financial issues, Tom the Tollhouse Keeper. Voice type: Baritone/Bass
