Equity dancers for FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING (See breakdown).

Disney Live Entertainment is accepting Dancer Submissions for Festival of The Lion King.

Join the inhabitants of the Pride Lands for this African-inspired celebration of The Lion King featuring songs from the film! This original musical theatre production is performed live in the Harambe Theater, a state-of-the-art, indoor, 1500-seat theatre-in-the-round in  Disney's Animal Kingdom®, at the Walt Disney World®â€¯Resort near Orlando, FL.

PREPARATION

Please be prepared to dance. This audition could contain multiple segments, and if invited to stay for the final callback later that day, a dance lift work session would be required. Due to the nature of the choreography, ballet or flat jazz shoes are preferred.

FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING

These characters are confident in themselves as individuals, their relationships with each other, and the rest of the inhabitants of the Pride Lands. Their passion for entertaining and sharing the Lion King story and culture with their audience drives their performances. We strongly encourage BIPOC dancers.

SEEKING:

Maji – She is an ethereal and curious bird with a spirited nature. Possesses excellent ballet technique with solid partnering skills and be comfortable performing aerial routines that involve flying in high altitudes. Due to aerial equipment safety, the height bracket for this role is between 5’1-5’4.

Moto – Displays a strong physical presence, but he also expresses a tender and gentle persona when dancing with Maji. Possesses excellent ballet technique with solid partnering skills. Performs extensive overhead lifts. For safety purposes, upper body strength is essential to perform this role.
