There are currently available stage manager positions for this season and SM candidates can attend EPA for a brief interview.

Please prepare a brief song/cut (1 minute or so) in the style of the show of any show in the season. Bring picture and resume.

Performances for all shows will generally run Wednesday-Sunday. Productions rehearse in Manhattan until tech, and then move to Babylon, Long Island. Theatre is about an hour from midtown, via LIRR (producers cover all travel).

[KRIS KRINGLE] Male, 40s–60s. Likeable, firm, caring. Loves children. Kind old man who believes he is Santa Claus. He embodies all of the classic characteristics of the jolly, friendly, warm-hearted icon. Character baritone, B2 to E4.

[FRED GAILEY] Male, 20s–40s. Friend/Neighbor to Doris and Susan; Lawyer; Kringle’s defense attorney; all around good guy.

[MARVIN SHELLHAMMER] Male, 30s. Assistant to Doris. Friendly, efficient. An aggressive but somewhat bungling junior executive and the head of Public Relations. C3 to F#4.

[DORIS WALKER] Female, late 20s to late 30s. Susan’s mother; all work, no play. Special Event Coordinator for Macy's Department Store. She is a driven career woman and free thinker who has recently divorced. Hard-working and cynical. F3 to F5.

[R. H. MACY] Male, 40s+, Owner of Macy’s Department Store. The boss of Macy's. Very concerned with public opinion. Bb2 to E4.

[MR. SAWYER] Male, 30s-40s. Macy’s vocational guidance counselor; character role requiring great comic timing.

[JUDGE MARTIN GROUP] Male, 30s-50s. Presides over Kringle’s hearing; Judicial; likeable; a bit political.

[DISTRICT ATTORNEY THOMAS MARA] Male, 30s-40s - Prosecuting attorney; somewhat jaded; sticks to the letter of the law.

[TAMMANY O’HALLORAN] Male, 40s+ - Judge Harper’s political campaign manager.

[SUSAN WALKER] Female, child, 7 to 11, Doris’s daughter. Precocious. She doesn’t believe. She is wise beyond her years and a self-sufficient city girl. G3 to Eb5. Actors local to Babylon, NY especially encouraged to attend.

[ARIEL] female, 18+, any ethnicity. A mermaid and King Triton's youngest daughter. She is obsessed with everything about the human world, and dreams of becoming a part of life above the water. Hardheaded, naive, and emotional, but also kind hearted. Extremely strong singer, Bb3 to Eb5

[PRINCE ERIC] male, 20s, any ethnicity. Prince Eric is the adventurous prince who captures Ariel's heart. After Ariel saves his life, he becomes obsessed with finding her and hearing her voice once more. Baritone, B3 to D5.

[GRIMSBY] male, 30s-50s, any ethnicity. Grimsby is Prince Eric's prim and proper British guardian. Droll, stuffy, and constantly urging Eric towards his royal duties, specifically marriage. He is rigid in personality and constantly trying to guide Prince Eric towards the throne. Good character singer. Baritenor.

[SEBASTIAN] male, 20s-30s, any ethnicity. Sebastian is the meticulous and anxious crab who tries to keep Ariel safe. Extremely strong singer, Tenor, A3 to D5.

[FLOUNDER] Flounder is Ariel's sincere and sensitive best friend who is loyal to the end. This spunky fish also has a show-stopping solo in She's in Love. Rambunctious but cautious, fearful of the dangers that lurk in and above the water.

[KING TRITON] male, 30s-50s, any ethnicity. King of the Sea and Ariel's father. Beneath his imposing presence and commanding nature lurks a harried single father who will do anything to protect his daughters. The death of his wife has also given him an irrational fear of humans. Strong baritone.

[URSULA] female-identifying, 30s-40s, any ethnicity. Ursula is the manipulative sea witch who tries to overthrow King Triton. She is cunning and devious and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Malevolent, calculating, and deceptive. Strong character belter.

[FLOTSAM] male, 20s-30s, any ethnicity. Flotsam and Jetsam are Ursula's slippery spies. These electric eels are sinister and sneaky. An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.

[JETSAM] male, 20s-30s, any ethnicity. Flotsam and Jetsam are Ursula's slippery spies. These electric eels are sinister and sneaky. An eel and one of Ursula's lackeys. Oily and spineless, he will say anything you want or need to hear.

[SCUTTLE] Scuttle is the know-it-all seagull who serves as Ariel's expert on humans. He is funny and off-beat. A disheveled seagull and expert in human artifacts. Loudmouthed, optimistic, and a bit ignorant, despite his supposed expertise.

[CHEF LOUIS] male, 30s-ish. The over-the-top head chef in the palace. He is always wild and frenetic. This is an excellent featured role for a comedic performer. The French palace chef, diabolical and violent. A culinary perfectionist with an affinity for blades, seafood in particular. Tenor, A3 to C5.

[EMCEE] male-identifying or non-binary or gender-non-conforming, any ethnicity, 20s-30s. Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub. The host at the Kit Kat Klub – an androgynous character, comfortable with being close to both men and women. Comedic, commanding, loveable. Requires agile stage movement and dance. Speaks with a German Accent. Tenor.

[SALLY BOWLES] female, 20s to 30s. A British Cabaret singer at the Kit Kat Klub. Vocal Range – Low A to High C – Soprano – Strong Belt. A quirky character that comes across as flighty – yet at times struggles with knowing the darkness of the reality of her life as a cabaret performer. Comfortable with stage movement and light dance. Speaks with a British Accent. Soprano, with strong belt.

[CLIFFORD (CLIFF) BRADSHAW] male, late 20s to mid 30s. An American novelist and English teacher traveling to Berlin. Baritone, low A to high E.

[FRAULEIN SCHNEIDER] female, 50+. A landlady who rents rooms in her large flat. Speaks with a German accent. Alto, low D to Ab above middle C.

[HERR SCHULTZ] male, 50+. One of Fraulein Schneider’s roomers and the proprietor of a Fruit Shop. Speaks with a German accent.

[FRAULEIN KOST] female, 30s. Another of Fraulein Schneider’s roomers. She earns money by offering favours to sailors – character has a strong sexual comfort and commanding nature. Alto/mezzo, low Ab to high F.

[ERNST LUDWIG] male, 30s-40s. A friendly and Likeable German. Takes English lessons from Cliff and smuggles funds for the Nazi Party.
