ENSEMBLE/DON KIRSCHNER: an influential music publisher and producer. He is a fast talking, energetic force of nature. Powerful, direct & sometimes intimidating, but he has a real affinity for his writers and artists. A hit maker. Age: 40 to 60 (Vocal range: A2 to C#4). Male presenting character.
ENSEMBLE/GENIE KLEIN: Carole’s Jewish mother. Once an aspiring playwright, she has been broken down by life & her husband’s infidelity. Protective of Carole and unforgiving of her husband’s mistakes. Age: 40 to 50. Female presenting character.
ENSEMBLE: Strong singers who move to play Drifters, Shirelles, and other various parts in the show. Also, actors who play instruments.
ENSEMBLE: 20–early 30s to play teens and adult roles. Open to all ethnicities and self-identities. Understudies for principal roles will be cast from our ensemble. Must be strong singers/actors/dancers (high energy contemporary dance) for ensemble.
OFFSTAGE SWINGS: To play 25–55. Swings to cover ensemble roles. See Ensemble breakdown above for details.
