ArtsFairfax Boosts FY27 Operating Support Grants by $10,000
ArtsFairfax awarded $601,900 in Operating Support Grants to 65 local arts nonprofits across Fairfax County, an increase of $10,000 and nine grantees over the previous fiscal year.

The Virginia Ballet Company and School is a pre-professional 501(c)(3) non-profit in Fairfax, Virginia that has provided classical ballet and contemporary dance training since 1950. Teaching follows the Russian Vaganova method, with an emphasis on the history of dance, its pioneers and its methods of instruction. The school is organized into a Preschool division (Mommy & Me for ages 2-4 with a parent, and Creative Movement for 4-5), an Elementary division running from Pre-Ballet through Beginning Ballet III, and a Pre-Professional division of intermediate and advanced ballet including pas de deux. Specialty programs include adult classes, adaptive dance, boys' ballet, dance for athletes, homeschool dance and a teen dance/musical theatre program, plus a Fantasy Ballet Camp and summer intensive. VBC performs an annual full-length Nutcracker and spring productions, and is funded in part by ArtsFairfax and the Virginia Commission for the Arts.
