About this studio

Now known as Philadelphia Ballet (formerly Pennsylvania Ballet), this non-profit presents a season of classical and contemporary repertory, with 2026/27 productions including Stars and Stripes Forever!, Dance at Great Velocity, Balanchine's The Nutcracker, Cinderella and Don Quixote, danced with its own orchestra. Its School of Philadelphia Ballet, at the Louise Reed Center for Dance on North Broad Street, was founded by Barbara Weisberger, a protege of Balanchine. School offerings run from Children's Programs for ages 3 to 7 and Student Programs for ages 8 up, to an audition-based Pre-Professional Program for ages 12 to 21 with a new Contemporary Division, open classes for ages 14 plus, and summer programs for ages 3 to 24. Community education and student matinees are also offered.

Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance will celebrate the company's 24th anniversary season with the showing of two of Cherylyn Lavagnino's artistic works, Tales of Hopper and The Winter's Tale, at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 W 37th Street, in New York City.
