The true story of Helen Keller blind, deaf, and mute is a study of how children learn language. But, in addition, it is about perseverance and stubbornness as Helens teacher Annie Sullivan never gives up on the girls potential to live a full life, even when others are content to give up. In this play, we see that Annie is Helens salvation and, likewise, Helen is Annies life-long self-redemption.
