All across the state of Texas, high school theatre students are gearing up for the annual UIL One Act Play State Championship competition, annually held at the University of Texas in Austin. Just as these students are indefatigably preparing, so is Landry Gideon and his documentary film crew. They have been tirelessly documenting the Texas One Act Play process. Despite the hectic and crazy schedule, Landry Gideon took some time to talk to me about THE SHOW MUST GO ON, his One Act Play documentary, and being a filmmaker.

Dixie's Tupperware Party, described as the hilarious show starring Dixie Longate that turned Off-Broadway into a Tupperware-mania celebration and garnered the prestigious 2008 Drama Desk Award Nomination, returns to Fort Worth for a strictly limited engagement of seven performances beginning April 30. Written by Kris Andersson, the production is appearing at the Van Cliburn Recital Hall at Bass Performance Hall April 30-May 5.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today that DTC Associate Artist and Brierley Resident Acting Company member Lee Trull has been promoted to Director of New Play Development. In his new position, Trull will produce readings, workshops and productions of new plays and musicals, manage new play submissions, serve as a member of the theater's senior staff, engage in education and outreach efforts, and participate as a member of the theater's artistic staff. Trull began working for Dallas Theater Center and joined the Resident Acting Company in 2008.
