Milford Arts Council, in association with Pantochino Productions Inc. presents CHARLES BUSCH in Native New Yorker on January 25th at 8pm at the MAC, 40 Railroad Avenue South in downtown Milford CT. Through an eclectic songbook from the seventies and early eighties, Busch unfolds an outrageously comic yet also poignant tale of his early years striving to find a place for himself in show business. Songs include the work of Michel Legrand, Rupert Holmes, Stephen Sondheim, Jim Croce among the best of Broadway, film and pop. He will be joined by his longtime musical director Tom Judson. Charles Busch has forged a unique place in the world of entertainment as playwright, actor, director, novelist, cabaret performer and drag icon. He is the author and star of over twenty-five plays including The Divine Sister, The Lady in Question, Red Scare on Sunset, The Tribute Artist and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom; one of the longest running plays in the history of Off-Broadway. His play The Tale of the Allergists Wife ran for 777 performances on Broadway, won the Outer Circle Critics John L. Gassner Award for playwriting, received a Tony nomination for Best Play and is the longest running Broadway comedy of the past twenty-five years. His most current play is The Confession of Lily Dare.Nite Spot Nights are co-sponsored by Milford Arts Council and Pantochino Productions. An eclectic collection of unique musical performances and some of the hottest stars of New York Citys cabaret scene, these revues feature top notch artists, bands, comedy, and more. Nite Spots are presented in a cabaret-style listening room at the MAC set with candlelit tables, inviting patrons to BYOEEE - Bring Your Own Everything Except the Entertainment. Wine, beer, soft drinks, and snacks are also available in the Speakeasy Lounge. The MAC has been called the sweetest little theatre along the Connecticut coastline, featuring an intimate setting with outstanding acoustics. tix: $30/$35 at door
