Final Production of the Academy’s 18th Season Opens April 30

Chagrin Falls, OH – The Academy for the Performing Arts proudly announces the opening of Little Women: The Broadway Musical, the final production of its 18th season. Performances begin April 30 and run through May 3 at the Academy’s Black Box Theatre.

Based on Little Women, this beloved musical brings the timeless story of the March sisters to life with soaring music, heartfelt storytelling, and a celebration of ambition, family, and resilience. Audiences will follow Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy as they navigate love, loss, and the pursuit of their dreams in Civil War-era America.

Directed by Dan Hendrock, the production showcases the extraordinary talent and artistry of Academy students, both on stage and behind the scenes.

“This is one of the most visually and emotionally beautiful productions we’ve ever created,” said Hendrock. “Our students have poured themselves into this story, and what makes it so special is how deeply they connect to the journey of these characters, their hopes, their struggles, and their love for one another. It’s a powerful reminder that storytelling, at its core, is about finding your voice and sharing it with the world.”

Known for its innovative use of technology and immersive design, the Academy’s production features a dynamic staging environment that enhances the intimacy and emotional depth of the story while highlighting the program’s commitment to professional-level training.

Little Women: The Broadway Musical serves as a fitting conclusion to a milestone season, celebrating nearly two decades of excellence in arts education and performance.
