The Apiary is a poignantly dark and comedic sci-fi fable by Kate Douglas, set 22 years into a bleak future where two lab workers race to save the last of the world's remaining bees. Originally premiering Off-Broadway in 2024 at Second Stage Theatre with Taylor Schilling and directed by Kate Whoriskey, this Chicago premiere is directed by Anna Klos. The production features an all female/non-binary design team with scenery by Eimi Schyler, costumes by Emily Nicholson, and dramaturgy by Ember Sappington.
