Sunday in the Park with George features a book by James Lapine with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, directed and choreographed by Producing Artistic Director Derek Van Barham with music direction by Nick Sula. Inspired by Georges Seurat's painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, the musical merges past and present into poignant truths about life, love, and the creation of art. The show won a Pulitzer Prize and received ten Tony Award nominations including Best Musical. This production marks the first Chicago storefront staging of the show in over 15 years.
