The Joffrey Ballet presents a modern adaptation of Carmen, set in a 1930s Spanish cigarette factory, exploring themes of love, betrayal, and defiance. This U.S. premiere, choreographed by Liam Scarlett, runs for ten performances at the Lyric Opera House from September 18 to 28, 2025. The company, known for its innovative storytelling, continues to solidify its reputation as a leading dance ensemble. Ashley Wheater serves as the Artistic Director, overseeing this critical work in its milestone 70th anniversary season.
