Pianist Jeffrey Kahane Cancels 8/10 Performance At Martin Theatre

By: Jul. 22, 2010

Pianist Jeffrey Kahane has cancelled his August 10 recital in the Martin Theatre under doctor's orders prohibiting travel for the next three weeks. Due to the unique repertoire on his program, Ravinia will not seek a substitution, but will instead go dark that night.

Ticketholders should call the Ravinia Box Office at 847-266-5100 to discuss refund and exchange options. The July 29 Martin Theatre recital by Denis Matsuev, performing works by Chopin and Schumann is available for exchange. Ravinia also encourages patrons to consider exchanging their tickets for seats at the festival's "$10 Classics" series in

Bennett • Gordon Hall. One ticket to the Aug. 9 performance can be traded for one ticket to all five of the following recitals:

National Chopin Competition Winner pianist Claire Huangi, Aug. 19;
Violinist Tianwa Yang, Aug. 20, performing Bach, Hindemith and Prokofiev;
Claremont Trio, Aug. 24, performing Schumann, Ravel and more;
Pianist Andreas Klein, Aug. 29, performing works of Mozart, Ravel and Prokofiev;
