Photo Flash: MARTYR Begins Tonight at Steep Theatre

Steep Theatre Company presents the U.S. Premiere of Martyr by Marius von Mayenburg, translated by Maja Zade and directed by Joanie Schultz. The production runs tonight, April 16 through May 23, 2015. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Benjamin's mother and teachers are alarmed when he begins espousing Fundamentalist Christian beliefs. Is it a ploy to ditch swimming class, or is it something more? Martyr tells the story of ordinary people (a single mother, an overworked school-teacher, a student with questions about his sexuality and his identity) who are caught in a young man's quest for relevance and power through religious radicalism.

The cast (in speaking order) features: Cindy Marker*, Brando Crawford, Claire Saxe, Steve Schine, Kendra Thulin*, Walter Brody, Travis Coe, and Brandon St. Clair Saunders.
