(08/08/2019) - Broadway Dreams partnered once again with Blumenthal Performing Arts on the return of their annual Summer Performing Arts Intensive, Saturday, July 27 through Sunday, August 4, 2019. Lead by an all-star roster of Broadway's brightest stars and industry professionals, Charlotte's rising stars participated in a week-long intensive focusing on acting, vocal performance, and dance.
(08/05/2019) - 2019 Tony winner Andre De Shields has been attending The National Black Theatre Festival® (NBTF) in Winston-Salem, N. C. since 1995. Dubbed the 'Black Theatre Holy Ground,' NBTF is the international outreach program of the North Carolina Black Repertory Company, founded by the late Larry Leon Hamlin in 1979. The Festival, also founded by Hamlin, has been held biennially since 1989. The NCBRC celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, while the NBTF celebrated its 30th.

(07/19/2019) - Asheville Creative Arts (ACA), Asheville's professional children's theatre, completes its 7th season with CHARLOTTE'S WEB. Adapted by Joseph Robinette from the beloved children's book by E.B. White, this production is directed by Abby Felder, features original folk music from Jonesalee (Gina Stewart and Brenda Gambill), puppets, costumes and sets by Edwin Salas Acosta, musical direction by Kylie Irvin, choreography by Isabelle Bowser, dramaturgey by Alex Smith, lights by Jason Williams with outreach from ACA's Community Development Director, Daniele Martin, and production and marketing support from Brook Bresnan. CHARLOTTE'S WEB will run at Magnetic 375 (375 Depot Street) from July 18-28, with public performances Fridays at 7, Saturdays at 4 (with all tickets pay-what-you-wish), and Sundays at 1pm (tickets to Friday and Sunday performances $12 for students and $23 for adults). (06/13/2019) - Broadway Dreams kicks off Unplugged, the 2019 Summer Intensive Tour in Atlanta, GA, followed by five U.S. cities, Calgary, Canada and Europa Park in Rust, Germany. In each location, Broadway Dreams will present an incredible roster of top Broadway directors, performers, and industry insiders who will offer highly personalized musical theater training through week-long intensive workshops for students of all ages, skill levels, and socio-economic backgrounds. At week's end, students will perform alongside their Broadway idols in a Broadway style revue open to the public.

(05/19/2017) - It might be May, but Flat Rock Playhouse says it's time to pull out the tinsel, hang the mistletoe, and head South for the holidays! The second of the extremely popular "Greater Tuna" series, a collection of comedic plays set in the fictional town of Tuna (the 3rd smallest town in Texas), A Tuna Christmas will return to the Playhouse Main Stage starring the hilarious Scott Treadway and his (or her) equally hilarious counterpart, Preston Dyar. Though seemingly a two-man show, there will be no lack of characters as these two gentlemen, who have separately been a part of several productions of the Tuna Series, will introduce audiences to over twenty of the town's most colorful characters together for the very FIRST time. A Tuna Christmas will run on the Main Stage in the Village of Flat Rock from May 19th through June 3rd.
