Hanover Little Theatre to Present BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, Begin. 9/12

Hanover Little Theatre, 360 Blooming Grove Road, will open its 66th season with a Neil Simon classic, "Barefoot in the Park," that will bring a slice of New York in the early 1960s to central Pennsylvania. Performance dates are Sept. 12-13 and 18-20 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. Opening night will feature a post-show reception to give patrons a chance to meet the cast.
Hershey Area Playhouse Sets Fall, Winter Drama Camps

Hershey Area Playhouse Theatre Academy announce its fall and winter drama camps for young actors. The fall session will run from September 20-November 8, 2014 and the winter session will be held from January 17-March 7, 2015.

The Ware Center of Millersville University and Fig Lancaster Magazine have teamed up to throw a party-and everyone is invited. The 'Arts Season Preview Event at the Ware Center,' will take place at the Ware Center in downtown Lancaster tonight, Aug. 19, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with the aim to give attendees a sneak peek at the many cultural offerings planned for the fall season, as well as a one-time opportunity to purchase season tickets before they go on sale to the public, September 2.

The Hershey Community Chorus will begin registration and rehearsals on Monday evening, August 18, 2014, at the Zion Lutheran Church, 100 W. Main Street, Hummelstown. Registration will begin at 6:30 with rehearsal following from 7 PM until 9 PM. Registrations will also be held on Monday, August 25, 2014, also starting at 6:30 with rehearsal following. The registration fee is $30.

DreamWrights' cast will perform The Rememberer, a true story shared amongst Native Americans nationwide, today, Aug. 8 - Aug. 17. This unique script has provided the opportunity for both parents and their children to have a role in the performances; the cast includes all ages ranging from 7 to 50. All actors have embraced a completely different culture, and some will speak the Indian language as it was known in 1911.

In addition to a cast of ten professional actors from New York City, the production will utilize the musical talents of local children and area churchgoers and choir members.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, is the latest production at Alpha/Omega Players in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. This show is loosely based on the last week of Jesus's life. Alpha/Omega does a decent job taking on this large production, as they creatively use the small space they have to fit a very large cast. Alpha/Omega's production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is a satisfactory show with some intense moments.
