Paris Peet to Star in A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Totem Pole Playhouse; Runs 12/11-21

Totem Pole Playhouse has announced the casting of professional actors from New York and local area community theatre actors for their upcoming holiday presentation of A Christmas Carol at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chambersburg. The production, which is being produced in association with the Chambersburg Community Theatre, will open December 11th and run through December 21st for ten performances.

Totem Pole Playhouse's Producing Artistic Director, Rowan Joseph, will direct the production and Chad Alan Carr, Artistic Director of the Gettysburg Community Theatre, will serve as choreographer.

Paris Peet, who has appeared in several productions at Totem Pole Playhouse including last season's hit comedy, The Foreigner, will play the role of 'Ebenezer Scrooge'. Peet teaches performance classes in the Theatre Arts Department at Shippensburg University. He is a member of Actors Equity Association and has appeared at regional and summer theatres including The Alley Theatre, The Shakespeare Theatre, Charlotte Repertory Company, The Houston Shakespeare Festival, and The East Carolina Playhouse.

Megan Yelaney and Nathan Meyer, who appeared this past summer in Totem Pole's acclaimed production of the musical Godspell, will be returning to play the roles of 'Belle' and Scrooge's nephew, 'Fred'. Meyer's wife, Whitney Meyer, who recently starred as 'Johanna' in Nashville Repertory Theatre's production of Sweeney Todd will portray the 'Spirit of Christmas Past'. Shane Partlow, who has appeared in numerous films and television series, most recently as Joseph's teammate on the Emmy Award-winning series The Amazing Race will play 'Bob Cratchit.'

Catherine Blaine, a local professional actor who has been an audience favorite at Totem Pole for many years, will portray the 'Spirit of Christmas Present'. Blaine appeared alongside TV legend, Melissa Gilbert, in last season's hugely successful production of Steel Magnolias.

Chambersburg Community Theatre mainstay, Lee Merriman, who appeared last season as 'Daddy Warbucks' in Annie and 'Captain Hook' in Peter Pan, leads the cast of 30 local community theatre actors in the production playing the roles of 'Marley's Ghost', 'Mr. Fezziwig', and 'Merchant #1'. Joining Merriman from C.C.T.'s membership and the local area will be Aimee Beth Davis as 'Fezziwig Daughter #1', Alyssa Fortney as 'Belle's Daughter', Andrew Pregartner as 'Peter Cratchit', Benjamin Hergenroeder as 'Young Ebenezer', Brandon Rea as 'Spirit of Christmas Future', Bryton Zook as 'Lamplighter', Caden Werner as 'Boy Scrooge', Ella Snyder as 'Fan', Emma Holt as 'Martha Cratchit', Evan Huse Clifton as 'Belle's Son', Gregory Freeman as 'Boy Caroler', Ian Jacobs as 'Belle's Husband', Jackie Rebok as 'Mrs. Dilber', Joan Crooks as 'Mrs. Fezziwig', Julie Strickland as 'Fezziwig Daughter #2', Kaden Blair as 'Matthew Cratchit', Kristen Di Mercurio as 'Fred's Wife', Kyle Chastulik as 'Young Dick Wilkins', Laura Martin as 'Mrs. Cratchit', Mike Stubbs as 'Old Joe', Rachel Kern as 'Beggar Woman', Shawn Martin as 'Charity Man #1', Stephanie Brown as 'Laundress', Tom Trgovac as ' Charity Man #2', Torrence Brown as 'Belinda Cratchit', and playing the role of 'Tiny Tim' will be Taylor Blair.

Also in the production as chorus members will be: Cadence Brown, Kenna Rhae Shearer and Madelyn Ross.

Totem Pole's production of the Christmas classic was a fixture during the holiday season in the Cumberland Valley for many years beginning in 1987 at the Central Center and later moving to the Capitol Theatre in downtown Chambersburg where is was last presented in 2004.

The performance are scheduled for December 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 at 7:30 PM with matinees on December 13, 14, 20, 21 at 2:30 PM. Ticket prices are $36 or $33 for adults and $20 for students (age 18 or younger).
