The Carriage House Players Present HAMLET

The Carriage House Players will continue the Vanderbilt's 30th annual Summer Shakespeare Festival with the Bard's most revered tragedy, Hamlet on Sunday, August 5th at 7 pm. The play runs through September 2nd. (Wednesday's and Fridays at 8 pm and Sunday's at 7 pm).

For the fourth show in their 47th annual summer season - and for the first time in the theatre's history - Cortland Repertory Theatre proudly presents the Pulitzer Prize winning American classic Our Town written by Thornton Wilder. Performances will run from August 1st - 11th with evening show times at 7:30 PM.  Matinees are available on August 3, 7 and 8 at 2:00 PM.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org. CRT cautions that this is the only approved online ticket service; other online sites charge significantly higher rates for tickets and are NOT approved by CRT.

In 1879 Henrik Ibsen produced the story of Nora Helmer, a wife and mother at a time of limited opportunities would arise in a male-dominated world. Audiences were shocked by "the door slam heard around the world" as she leaves to lead a life free of domesticity.

Stanescu's play, a Civic Commission, is a meditation on loneliness, identity and complicity that examines modern day domestic slavery's impact on the lives of three ethnically diverse women in the leafy suburbs of Connecticut. The 24th season of the Adirondack Theatre Festival will feature the golden era tap musical Front Page Flo. The show will open at the Charles R. Copland House Announces 2018 Residency Awards

An unusually diverse group of 12 highly-gifted composers has been selected to receive the 2018 Copland House Residency Awards. Ranging in age from 31 to 57, these four women and eight men from eight states come from widely-varied personal and artistic backgrounds, and have pursued divergent creative paths from concert music to jazz, acoustic to electronic, minutely-detailed to free and improvisatory, socially-engaged to abstract. They include a 2018 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, recipients of the Charles Ives Living award and Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Career Grant, and two much-acclaimed concert and jazz pianists.
