The Verdict, written by Barry Reed and adapted for the stage by Margaret May Hobbs, follows Frank Galvin, a washed-up, alcoholic lawyer presiding over what should be an open-and-shut malpractice case. Suspecting a cover-up, he refuses an out-of-court settlement and takes on negligent doctors and the powerful Boston medical establishment in a courtroom battle for redemption. Shaun Smyth leads the cast as Frank Galvin, alongside Joel Cochrane as J. Edgar Concannon and Kira Bradley as Dr. Danielle Crowley, among others. Directed by Jack Grinhaus, the production runs at Vertigo Theatre May 9 through June 7, 2026.
