I Dream in Wampum, a new piece by Barbara Kaneratonni Diabo, explores the intersection of Indigenous culture, dance, and science fiction. Set to premiere at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, this work aims to imagine a powerful connection between the stars and Kanien’keha:ka heritage. Diabo, who serves as Artistic Director of A’nó:wara Dance Theatre, blends traditional and contemporary dance styles to create a unique artistic experience. The performance will reflect on the strength and resilience of Indigenous people while envisioning their place in the universe.
