But their love is tested by the gods who rule the island, wagering on whether love or death is stronger, with the stakes being Ti Moune’s life.

Ti Moune faces societal barriers and ultimate sacrifice as she pursues her love. Her enduring spirit, however, transforms her into a symbol of unity that breaks the walls that divide their societies.
