Amanda McBroom and Michele Brourman reunite at Birdland Jazz Club to celebrate five decades of collaboration in an evening of words and music. McBroom is best known for her Golden Globe–winning song "The Rose," recorded by Bette Midler, with her work subsequently recorded by artists including LeAnn Rimes, Betty Buckley, Barbara Cook, and The Manhattan Transfer. Brourman's best-known song, "My Favorite Year," has been recorded by Michael Feinstein, Margaret Whiting, and Dame Cleo Laine, and together the two have written songs for 18 animated features for Universal Studios, composing for artists such as Reba McEntire, Olivia Newton-John, and Donny Osmond.
