David DeJesus and the Boptet mark a special occasion by turning their focus from Charlie Parker to Miles Davis, whose centennial birthday falls on May 26th. Saxophonist David DeJesus leads the group through new arrangements drawn from the many eras of Davis's artistry, spanning early bebop, the cool period, both Great Quintets, and his later explorations in funk, the avant garde, and fusion. DeJesus is a fixture on the New York City music scene with three decades of experience performing alongside the Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, the Mingus Big Band, Ron Carter's Great Big Band, and many others.
