VIDEO: See a First Look of Nicole Maines as Nia Nal in the SUPERGIRL Trailer

In the newest SUPERGIRL trailer, fans get a first look at actress Nicole Maines as Nia Nal, who is CatCo's newest reporter. Nal will become the superhero Dreamer. Maines will be TV's first transgender superhero.

Other new faces this season are Other new faces include: Sam Witwer, playing Agent Liberty; April Parker Jones, playing Col. Haley; David Ajala, taking on the recurring role of Manchester Black; Rhona Mitra, who will play Mercy Graves; and Robert Baker, who will play Otis Graves.

Supergirl returns Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.

Melissa Benoist leads the cast of SUPERGIRL as the title character alongside Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra "Alex" Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow "Winn" Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.

SUPERGIRL is based on the DC character Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, who after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her SUPERHUMAN abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul Cat Grant. However, Kara's days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw, head of a super-secret agency, enlists her to help protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats.
