NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises proudly celebrated the first-year anniversary of its award-winning, corporate social responsibility initiative, El Poder En Ti (The Power in You). Recognizing the issues that matter the most to Hispanics in America, El Poder En Ti empowers viewers to take positive actions in critical areas of personal growth including education, health, finance and civic engagement.

Knowing that educational advancement and financial well-being of Latinos is critical to the overall success of our national economy, over the past year El Poder En Ti has provided key resources and information to more than eight million Hispanics through on-the-ground events across the country. In addition, as the #1 media company to reach Hispanics and millennials online, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises has leveraged the power of its digital platforms to engage and empower what it refers to as Generation M™ - Mobile, Millennial and Multicultural Latinos - through digital tools and daily updates on El Poder En Ti Facebook, Instagram and elpoderenti.com, reaching over 35 million people on social media.

Led by international Spanish-language television icon Don Francisco, and starring some of Telemundo's most recognized on-air talent, El Poder En Ti launched a series of public service announcements that reached tens of millions of viewers with empowering, life-changing and inspirational stories. In addition, as the largest producer of original Spanish-language content in the US, the company consistently addresses social issues in its entertainment and news content to increase awareness and provide critical information to its viewers.

"As a world-class media company, Telemundo has the privilege of reaching millions of Hispanics through our multiplatform portfolio. With that comes a great responsibility to give back to the community and empower our viewers to thrive," said Cesar Conde, Chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. "We are extremely proud of what El Poder En Ti has done for our community in its first year and are doubling down in our efforts to help Hispanics live a better life by unleashing the power within them."

In 2017, El Poder En Ti partnered with organizations to award more than $100,000 in scholarship grants to students and launched www.ElPoderEnTi.com/Becas to provide students an opportunity to obtain a college education, opening the doors to a brighter future. Additionally this year, El Poder En Ti donated $20,000 to SLAM Miami (Sports Leadership and Management) Charter School, enabling it to start the school's first music program.

Since its launch, El Poder En Ti, has partnered with organizations on issues affecting Latinos from voting to finance to health awareness. Organizations such as the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen and American Cancer Society have partnered with Telemundo's El Poder En Ti to provide viewers the necessary information to further combat the key health issues impacting our community. Research shows that close to half of Hispanics never visit a doctor or medical provider during the year and Hispanics over index when it comes to health issues in the areas of cancer, diabetes, heart disease and obesity. El Poder En Ti's multiplatform channels have successfully provided millions of families across the country with impactful information to make healthy transformational decisions in their daily lives. In addition, in partnership with the Council for Economic Education, El Poder En Ti, features digital tools to help Hispanics afford to go to college, own a home, start or expand a business and fully participate in growing the US economy.

During the 2016 election, in partnership with Telemundo Stations and organizations such as Voto Latino, NCLR, LULAC and Mi Familia Vota, El Poder En Ti launched the #YoDecido campaign, a one-of-a-kind effort to inform and encourage millions of registered voters to exercise their civic right to vote. In collaboration with "Noticias Telemundo," who presented a series of Town Halls, Las Cosas Como Son (Telling It Like It Is), viewers were given an opportunity to voice their questions and concerns about the new policies the directly impact the US Hispanic community. In parallel to the news special, El Poder En Ti launched its new citizenship and immigration resource page to keep our community informed.

In celebrating this one year milestone and the continuous increase in reach through digital, on air, and community platforms, El Poder En Ti has been recognized for many of its campaigns including three Telly Awards, which honor the best in television, cable, digital, and streaming, and the Social Good Awards, by Cynopsis.
