Broadway veteren Hugh Jackman is set to appear alongside Alicia Silverstone and Jennifer Garner in new film 'Butter.' Mike DeLuca and Garner will produce the film. The Weinstein Company comedy features a screenplay by Jason Micallef and will be directed by Jim Field Smith.

'Butter' will see Garner star as "an ambitious Midwestern woman trying to win a local butter-carving contest." In the film, Jackman "portrays an old flame of Garner's character, while Silverstone will play the adoptive mother of a teen girl who becomes a major contender in the butter-carving competish."

The cast also includes Yara Shahidi and Ashley Greene. Filming is set to begin later this month.

Known to many as Wolverine, Jackman made his New York debut on June 6, 2002, in a benefit concert of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Carousel" at Carnegie Hall. Hugh sang the role of Billy Bigelow opposite Audra McDonald as Julie Jordan.

Jackman made his Broadway debut as Peter Allen in the 2003 musical "The Boy From Oz", the first Australian musical to come to Broadway. Hugh's amazing performance in the show earned him the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. Recently, he starred opposite Daniel Craig in A Steady Rain.
