RWBY, created by the late Monty Oum for Rooster Teeth, is set in Remnant, a fictional future-fantasy world filled with horrific monsters bent on the destruction of humanity. Fortunately, the kingdoms of Remnant have risen to combat these forces by training powerful Huntsmen and Huntresses at academies around the planet. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long are four such Huntresses in training whose journeys will take them far past the grounds of Beacon Academy. Though each may be powerful on their own, these four girls must come together to work as a team if they truly hope to become the next generation of Remnant's protectors. But can they succeed at each other's side when dark forces gather to divide and destroy humanity?

The first episode of RWBY was released on Rooster Teeth's website in July of 2013, with following episodes released nearly weekly. RWBY became a viral hit, and Volume 2 was released a year later in July 2014. Volume 3 followed in October of 2015 with the fourth volume released in October 2016. RWBY has since spawned a video game titled "RWBY: Grimm Eclipse," a manga adaptation and a comedic animated spin-off called "RWBY Chibi."

"Rooster Teeth is thrilled for this opportunity to celebrate RWBY with all the fans, new or old," said Gray G. Haddock, Head of Rooster Teeth Animation. "Getting to see key moments from Volume 4, the new character shorts, and sharing laughs from RWBY Chibi is a wonderful way to get ready for the new volume. No comment section online can replace what it's like to share the laughs and tears with fellow fans, live, in a theater. I love that we have this chance to bring the whole community together, to experience this on the big screen."

"Fathom Events is proud to partner again with Rooster Teeth and bring this popular anime series to local movie theaters," Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt said. "RWBY has legions of followers in the U.S., and we are pleased to give them opportunity to view the Volume 5 Premiere alongside fellow passionate fans."
