Bay Street Announces A STAR IS BORN in Concert Featuring Farah Alvin, Jessica Hendy, and More

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts announces A Star is Born: The Concert, on Saturday, April 13 at 8 pm. The show features a number of Broadway' finest singers, from shows such as Cats, Crazy for You, Aida, and more. Bay Street audiences will remember director/performer Scott Coulter from Music Monday's Stephen Schwartz & Friends and the 8-Track Memories concert.

Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Lady Gaga each stole our hearts with A Star is Born. Now a trio of Broadway/cabaret's best voices join forces to celebrate the music from all three iconic film versions of A Star is Born featuring The Man That Got Away, Shallow, and the Academy Award-winning Evergreen.

Farah Alvin has been seen on Broadway in Ruben and Clay's Christmas Show, It Shoulda Been You, Nine, The Look of Love, Saturday Night Fever, Grease!, A Christmas Carol. She recently starred Off-Broadway in the series Inner Voices in the one-woman musical Window Treatment which was recorded for Lincoln Center. Other Off-Broadway credits include Goldstein, The Last Smoker In America (cast album), The Marvelous Wonderettes (Drama Desk Nomination, cast album), I Love You Because (cast album) and more. Lots of regional including Papermill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Signature Theatre (Helen Hayes Award), Cape Playhouse, Geva Theater and Alabama Shakespeare. Farah regularly performs in NYC in the series Broadway by the Year and Broadway Unplugged at The Town Hall, Broadway Close Up at The Kaufman Center and 54 Sings... at Studio 54. She has performed with the National Symphonies of the United States and Canada as well as many esteemed orchestras across the country.

Jessica Hendy played the role of Grizabella in Cats in both the original Broadway run and the 2016 revival cast becoming the only person to have appeared in both Broadway incarnations of that smash hit musical. Other Broadway includes Aida(Amneris), and Amour. She has toured Nationally and in Canada in Cats (Grizabella) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator). In New York, she received rave reviews for her one-woman cabaret, A Life To Call Your Own, and a Bistro Award for the review Get Your Tickets Now She played Diana Goodman in the regional premier of the Pulitzer Prize winning musical Next to Normal at Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. She has had the pleasure to work at many theatres around the country including Pittsburg CLO and North Shore Music Theatre in Miss Saigon (Ellen), and Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Songs for a New World. Ms. Hendy's performance as "Jeanne" in The Great America Trailer Park Musical at The Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati earned her an ACCLAIM Award for Best Actress. Her symphonic concert work includes performances with Cincinnati Pops, Modesto Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Ft. Worth Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. She travels the country with the concerts Broadway Today! and Cinema Toast: The Music of the Movies. Ms. Hendy is a proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Kelli Rabke got her "big break" playing the role of Dorothy in Paper Mill Playhouse's acclaimed production of The Wizard of OZ. Shortly thereafter, she was handpicked by Andrew Lloyd Webber to play the lead role of the Narrator in the Broadway revival of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (US Cast Recording). Following that, she played her dream role: Eponine in Les Misérables on Broadway. She went on to perform around the country in such roles as Mabel in Mack and Mabel, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, and back to Paper Mill Playhouse in Stephen Schwartz's Children of Eden as Yonah (American Premiere Recording). She is one of only two Broadway stars to originate a role in both a Stephen Schwartz and an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical - a distinction for which she is incredibly honored.

Kelli was thrilled to return to the NYC stage at the beautiful and historic Town Hall where she has been seen in numerous concerts including Broadway Originals and Broadway Unplugged and is an Emmy nominee for her performance in American Song. Her symphony concert work has taken her all over the world.

Scott Coulter has received five MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) and five Bistro Awards and two Nightlife Awards for Outstanding Vocalist. Scott was director and star of A Christmas Carol: The Symphonic Concert in its world premiere with the Baltimore Symphony and reprised his performer role in the Emmy-nominated PBS production. He is an Emmy nominee himself for his work in American Song on PBS. regularly performs in concert around the world with legendary artists including Stephen Schwartz, Sheena Easton and Ben Vereen.

He is creator, arranger and director of several touring shows (symphonic and non-) including Music of the Knights, You've Got a Friend, Blockbuster Broadway!,The Fella Sings Ella, The King: The Music of Elvis, and for The ASCAP Foundation, Jerry Herman: The Broadway Legacy Concert. As a director his credits include many shows for The Town Hall in NY (Broadway by the Year, Broadway's Rising Stars, Broadway Originals, Broadway Unplugged and BBTY for The Berkshire Theatre Festival and Broadway by the Bay. Along with Michael Kerker and ASCAP, he's a regular producer/director of Michael Feinstein's Standard Time at Carnegie Hall. Scott is founder/owner of Spot-On Entertainment (www.Spot-OnEntertainmnet.com) and a resident director of programming at 54 Below in NYC. He is a graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and artistic director of the Pocono Mountains Music Festival.

John Boswell (Pianist) has served as musical director for Judy Collins, Andy Williams, Bob Newhart, Scott Coulter, Maude Maggart, Faith Prince, Carmen Cusack, Babbie Green, Jason Graae and a host of other fine talents. John played the role of "Moose" in the national tour of Crazy for You and has appeared on The Tonight Show, Today Show, CBS This Morning, Regis and Kathie Lee, General Hospital and was the piano playing hands of Nancy McKeon on the sit-com The Facts of Life. Recent concerts with symphonies have included Jerry Herman: The Broadway Legacy Concert, Blockbuster Broadway!, Sheena Easton and Scott Coulter: The Spy Who Loved Me and Music of the Knights. John has been heard singing in the shows Three Men and A Baby, Grand, Cinema Toast, Broadway Today, Wiseguys, and the New York cult hit Cashino. Broadway/Off Broadway credits include Crazy for You, The Secret Garden, LIZA! Steppin' Out at Radio City Music Hall, Back to Bacharach, and Parallel Lives: based on the Kathy and Mo Show. His monthly concerts in 2017 at The Gardenia in Los Angeles have been crowd pleasers. John has eight CDs of original piano music and a ninth on the way. While a student at UCLA, John received the Frank Sinatra Award for popular instrumentalists.

Alex Getlin was most recently seen Off-Broadway in the company of Anything Can Happen in the Theatre - The Songs of Maury Yeston and at Carnegie Hall in Standard Time with Michael Feinstein. A recent graduate of Northwestern University, she made her California debut in June 2017 with the Pasadena Pops and ?Michael Feinstein conducting Broadway: The Golden Age, where she starred along with ?Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey. She has also performed at Town Hall as a 2016 Broadway Rising Star, as well as at Feinstein's/54 Below and NJPAC. Northwestern credits include Gypsy (Rose), Sweeney Todd (Mrs. Lovett), Into the Woods (The Witch), and Company (Amy). Alex made her professional singing debut at 17, when she was presented by Feinstein in a solo cabaret show You're Gonna Hear From Me at the Regency, directed by John Oddo and Scott Coulter. Ashton Michael Corey is a New York City based actor and multi-instrumentalist. Recent credits include the National Tour of a Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (Tom Copley/ US Monty), Once at TheatreSquared (Svec), Closer Than You Think at Strange Sun Theatre (Billy), and Pip's Island Off Broadway (Pip). Ashton is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College.
