ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA Is No. 1 For Week of 4/8

ABC News' "Good Morning America" stood as the morning's No. 1 newscast in both Total Viewers (5.494 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.045 million) during the week of April 8, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. The week marked "GMA's" one-year anniversary of snapping NBC's "Today's" 852-week Total Viewer winning streak, when "GMA" topped the NBC program by +31,000 viewers on the week of April 9, 2012.

For the week, "GMA" outdelivered the No. 2 ranked "Today Show" (4.834 million and 1.982 million, respectively) by +660,000 Total Viewers and +63,000 Adults 25-54. "GMA" also improved on the previous week (5.338 million and 1.952 million, respectively, on w/o 4/1/13) for the 2nd consecutive week in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%), hitting a 5-week high in both measures - since w/o 3/4/13. Additionally, GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo! reached 23 million users in March 2013. It is the No. 1 morning news website and beats Today.com by millions of users each month.

In Total Viewers, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in all 28 weeks of the season. In fact, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 every week in Total Viewers for more than eight months (the last 34 weeks - since w/o 8/13/12) and in 39 of the last 41 weeks (behind "Today" only during the 2 weeks of the Summer Olympics). Further, "GMA's" 34 consecutive weeks at No. 1 match its longest stretch in 20 years - since the 1992-93 season, w/o 11/9/92 - w/o 6/28/93.

In Adults 25-54, "GMA" turned in its longest news demo winning streak in nearly 19 years - since the 1993-94 season, w/o 4/25/94 - w/o 7/4/94, ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 for the last 10 weeks. Overall this season, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in 23 of 28 weeks, representing "GMA's" highest number of No. 1 finishes in Adults 25-54 during a season in 20 years - since the 1992-93 season.

"GMA" was up on the year-earlier week (5.168 million and 1.974 million, respectively, on w/o 4/9/12) in both Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%), seeing year-to-year increases in overall viewers in all 28 weeks this season. In contrast, NBC's "Today" was not only down year to year ?(-6%/-11%), but has seen losses in overall viewers and in the key news demo in all 28 weeks of the season. In fact "Today" has posted decreases for the last 34 weeks overall, starting with the week following the Summer Olympics (since w/o 8/13/12).

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. It is leading "Today" by its largest season margin in overall viewers (+604,000) in more than 21 years, and in the key adult news demo (+75,000) in 20 years - since at least the 1991-92 season and the 1992-93 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+7%) and Adults 25-54 (+2%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -14%/-20%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is up +9%/less than +1%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 8 years and best Adult 25-54 performance in 4 years - since the 2004-05 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.

For the week, "GMA" outdelivered CBS' "This Morning" by +83% in Total Viewers, while nearly doubling the performance of the CBS program in Adults 25-54 (+97%).
