WOMEN ROCK CONCERT BENEFIT! Comes to Houston

Returning for the second year in a row, Mildred's Umbrella (MU) is teaming up with Rudyard's British Pub and Houstonia Magazine for 'Women Rock,' a fundraiser benefiting the theater company's 2019-20 season. The benefit concert will feature local female-fronted bands and solo artists, a silent auction, and a VIP section with hors d'oeuvres from Rudyard'scelebrated chef, Jordan Economy.

"We had such a great time putting the concert together last year that we decided to make it our annual fundraiser," said Managing Director Rebecca Ayres. "This year is going to be a bit bigger though, with more musical acts and silent auction items spread throughout the venue."

Associate Artistic Director and Concert Coordinator Miranda Morris added, "This fundraiser is vital for Mildred's Umbrella. It's our largest fundraiser of the year and will kick start our 2019/2020 season. Partnering with these great female artists to present 'Women Rock' again this year, is an honor and we are so grateful for their support. We're taking over both floors at Rudyard's for the 2019 concert; it's going to be huge!"
Signed on for the 2019 concert are: Miears, Pretty Vacant, Quinn the Brain, Marina Rocks, Annika Chambers Band, Sweet Mama Cotton, Benita, Lazer Kittenz, Alli Villines, and more.

The funds raised from the evening will support MU's theatrical productions and reading series, which promote both emerging and recognized women playwrights and directors, and its outreach program, Partners for A.R.T., which puts theater to work for local women service organizations.

The Second Annual "Women Rock" benefit concert will be held at Rudyard's British Pub on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Doors open at 6:00pm and concert will start at 6:30pm. Party Package Tickets (includes 2 premium drink tickets) are $25, and VIP tickets (includes drink tickets and access to VIP area) are $50.
