Story Sessions Brunch - "Love is"

Story Sessions is a monthly show featuring a collection of performers sharing true personal stories that will tug at your heart strings, tickle your funny bone and take your mind on a wild adventure. Seven performers will share true stories about all things love - the triumphant and the terrible. performers include Anne Abel, Annalise Raziq, Steve Glickman, Terri Silverstone, Heather Mangan, Mac MacDevitt, and Don Hall with Dana Jerman.

Great Moments in Vinyl expands on the tribute band concept by weaving the stories and images accompanying the music into their set. Comprised of veterans from the Chicago music scene, Great Moments in Vinyl regularly celebrates the albums of their musical heroes. This performance will feature the music of The Police, U2, Indigo Girls, Sinéad O'Connor, Regina Spektor, Fleetwood Mac and Dire Straits.

Formed in Seattle in 1991, Candlebox went quadruple platinum with their 1993 self-titled debut and released two more acclaimed and top-selling albums (1995's Lucy and 1998's Happy Pills) before going on a hiatus in 2000. Candlebox regrouped with a 2006 tour, then put out Into the Sun in 2008, followed by 2012's Love Stories & Other Musings. The band's most recent release, For Disappearing in Airports, which, at this record's core, is a recommitment to creating music that is "pissed and urgent" as well as bringing a new energy to the live show. Candlebox remains one of the most highly requested and played groups on radio, including the band's mega hits "Far Behind" and "You." Their City Winery Chicago set features intimate acoustic duo performances.

An urban chanteuse by birth, Amel Larrieux grew up in a West Village "artists building" in New York City, where her parents exposed her early to a community of artists and artistic experiences that would mold her eclectic sensibilities. At the age of 18, sure that she wanted to express herself musically, Larrieux wrote and demoed a song, which led to her pairing with Bryce Wilson to form the duo Groove Theory. As lead vocalist and co-writer for the group, she enjoyed success with "Tell Me," which broke the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and the top five on the R&B charts before being certified gold in October 1995.
Larrieux performs a repertoire of soulful hits, folk and world music-flavored jazz standards and cuts from her four solo albums.

Timothy B. Schmit is the groundbreaking vocalist, songwriter and bass player from the legendary rock groups Eagles and Poco. This album marks the culmination of Schmit's unhurried, yet inspired reflections of life. Writing and recording between touring with the Eagles, the songs on Leap of Faith have a broad compass. The versatile actor, comedian and producer Arsenio Hall first became involved in the arts at "The Cleveland Playhouse" and continued to hone his craft through his Kent State University years. In 1979, Hall moved from Ohio to Chicago, where he tried his hand at stand-up comedy and was discovered by jazz singer Nancy Wilson. It was the success of his Emmy Award-winning late-night talk show "The Arsenio Hall Show" that made him a household name. Hall has gone on tour, opening for twenty major headliners including Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Stevie Wonder and has made numerous appearances on television shows such as "Solid Gold," "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" and a cameo appearance in "Amazon Women on the Moon."

Ray Wylie Hubbard joined country music "outlaws" Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson as part of the progressive country vanguard on the Texas music scene in the 1970s. These Austin and Dallas cowboys grew their hair long and added a healthy dose of rock 'n' roll to their music. Ten albums later, Hubbard has continued to solidify himself as an elder statesman of Texas Music and a songwriter's songwriter. A leading figure of the progressive country movement, Hubbard is also well-known for authoring the perennial anthem "Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother" recorded by Jerry Jeff Walker.
City Winery also announces Patrick Stuart opens for Louie Anderson Jan. 29, Cheryl Lynn Bruce and Runako Jahi will join the Langston Hughes Celebration Feb. 1, Lowercase Roses opens for Laura Jane Grace on Feb. 5, Coyote Riot opens for Head for the Hills Feb. 17 and Chicago Farmer opens for Elizabeth Cook on Mar. 18.

Opened in 2012, City Winery Chicago is a fully operational winery, restaurant with outdoor patio, concert hall and private event space located in the heart of the West Loop at 1200 W.
