- April 30, 2018 In a dramatic turn of events, three outstanding young musicians were selected in the Adelphi Orchestra's 2018 Young Artist Competition from a field of 62 worthy contestants, and 17 remarkable finalists who included Sanford Whatley (Violin), Keila Wakao (Violin), Jisu Choi (Violin), Elizabeth Lee (Violin), Laura Navasardian (Cello), Bryan Cheng (Cello), Eliana Silverman (Violin), Angela Dong (Violin) Sofia Gilchenok (Viola), Kenneth Ryu Naito (Violin), Jiabao Wei (Violin), Charles Zandieh (Cello), Jun Lin (Violin), Sophia Stoyanovich (Violin), Randall Mitsuo Goosby (Violin), Phoebe Gardner (Violin) and Jason Moon (Violin).

Jason Tramm To Conduct Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Opus 45, 4/29 by BWW News Desk
- April 26, 2018 Noted American conductor Jason Tramm, whose work in the operatic, symphonic and choral repertoire has merited acclaim in both Europe and north America, will guest conduct Brahms' “Ein deutsches Requiem, Opus 45 in Vocal Productions New York City's Gala Concert. Brahms' masterwork for chorus, orchestra and soloists will take place Sunday April 29th at 6PM, at NYC's historic Church of the Holy Apostles. The collective ensemble of musicians and singers from the greater New York/New Jersey metro area, who will include Julianna Milin, soprano and baritone Hyung Joo Eom, have gathered to perform this concert as volunteers in support of Vocal Productions New York City's artistic mission and its founder, the critically acclaimed opera singer Valentin Peytchinov. Tickets range from $35 -$250 and can be secured online.

- April 26, 2018 Under the baton of its founding music director, George Rothman, Riverside Symphony will offer the final concert of its 37th season at Alice Tully Hall on Wednesday evening, June 6 at 8:00PM. In a memorial performance, the orchestra will open the concert with Schubert's Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished” before proceeding to the world premiere of Artistic Director Anthony Korf's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra “Three Epigrams.” This 25-minute work, commissioned by The Roger Shapiro Fund for New Music, will feature local virtuoso Jesse Mills, a much in-demand artist and founding member of the Horszowski Trio. Sibelius' radiant, yet less-familiar Symphony No. 3 in C major will conclude the concert.

- April 26, 2018 Young pianist Thomas Nickell, an artist with 'an ever-increasing reputation as a player's player and composer' (Litchfield Live, 23 Jul 2017) will perform as soloist in Beethoven's Second Piano Concerto with the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago under maestro Mina Zikri at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall (corner of 56th Street and Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10019) on Sunday afternoon, June 3, 2018 at 1:30 pm, presented by the Alexander & Buono Foundation. The program will also include Liszt's Totentanz, as well as solo piano selections from the classical repertoire and Mr. Nickell's own compositions.
