The Cleveland POPS Orchestra announces its annual G-Clef Ball fund raiser. The event will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in the ballroom of the Cleveland Marriott East. This year, the orchestra has chosen Senior Vice President and general manager of Horseshoe Cleveland's $400 million casino development in downtown Cleveland, as its honoree for the event. Mr. Glover is being honored by Cleveland POPS Orchestra for his many leadership roles in Cleveland's business, civic and cultural arts organizations.

The G-Clef Ball, considered to be one of the most elegant of fund raisers held in Cleveland, is the twelfth such event for the orchestra, noteworthy for its distinctive silent auction, the entertainment and grand dance music provided by maestro Carl Topilow and the world-renowned Cleveland POPS.

All proceeds from the 2014 G-Clef Ball will benefit the non-profit Cleveland POPS Orchestra.

About Marcus Glover

Marcus Glover is Senior Vice President and general manager of Horseshoe Cleveland, a $400 million casino development in downtown Cleveland. Providing leadership and daily inspiration for over 1600 team members, Glover is also charged with ensuring Horseshoe Cleveland consistently maximizes its connectivity and economic impact in the host city, while upholding Caesars' world-class management standards. Glover also provides leadership and oversight for over 700 employees at Thistledown, Ohio's largest Thoroughbred Race Track and Racino in Cleveland east suburbs.

Glover, an eleven-year veteran of the gaming industry, has held leadership positions in New Orleans, Biloxi, and prior to relocating to Cleveland, served as the Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Operations at Harrah's St. Louis Casino and Hotel. There he oversaw the resort's 1,500 employees and provided leadership and strategic direction for all aspects of the facility's business including gaming, security, environmental services and food and beverage operations.

Glover began his career with Caesars Entertainment in 2003 as a President's Associate at Harrah's New Orleans where he worked on several key strategic projects and initiatives, including the acquisition of Caesars Entertainment. Marcus was soon promoted to Executive Associate for the Gulf Coast Region, which consisted of four properties across southern Louisiana and Mississippi, and was actively involved with integrating these properties into the company's portfolio. Post Hurricane Katrina, Glover also played a significant leadership role in restoring the company's Gulf Coast operations. He was promoted to Vice President of Operations for Grand Casino Biloxi, (Mississippi) in 2006, where he held direct responsibility for casino, hotel and food and beverage operations and a workforce of 900 team members. After a successful stint in Biloxi, Marcus was promoted to his most recent post of Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Operations for Harrah's St. Louis. Prior to entering the gaming and hospitality industry, Glover worked as a management consultant for Accenture and Deloitte Consulting. Glover, an active participant in his community, serves as Board Member for Positively Cleveland (Convention & Visitors Bureau), Board Member for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, PlayhouseSquare, Cuyahoga Community College Foundation, and the Greater Cleveland Partnership (Area Chamber of Commerce).

A native of Aiken, South Carolina, Glover earned a finance degree from Morehouse College (Atlanta) and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
