The following are OCAC's upcoming events.

Spaghetti Opera X (October 17, 2009 from 6:30-9:30). Tickets cost $30 per person 

An evening of music, food and conversation with local talent performing opera arias, lighter musical show tunes, duets, and trios.  Musical director is Mark Darling and the evening's M.C. is Fred Magley.   Top it off with a first-class dinner of spaghetti and meatballs, salad and desserts, coffee and tea prepared by Tom Encao and his family.

And it's BYOB.  This is one of the leading cultural events in Canandaigua.  Tables can be reserved by calling. Tickets available at All Things Art and online using PayPal.

Gingerbread Kids Need a Home!

Competition in gingerbread at All Things Art, 65 S. Main Street, Canandaigua. Entries accepted now through November 3rd. See site for details. For more information, visit www.ocarts.org.

In conjunction with the Christkindl Market 2009, All Things Art will feature the Gingerbread House Creation.  Entries may come from professionals, adults, teens and children.  Rules and regulations and the entry form are available at All Things Art and on the site www.ocarts.org.  It will be great fun! Entry is free. All entries, Silent Auction Bids and ballots for A People's Choice Award will be displayed in the gallery at All Things Art from November 12 through the 19th.  Enter, visit, bid, and win a sweet treat for your holiday table.

Saints and Sinners: Women Maligned in History, an original drama by local authors
What do you know about the likes of Jezebel, Tokyo Rose, Bloody Mary I? This original drama will offer the evidence behind the trials and tribulations that six women had to suffer

NYSCA:

Two local authors, Kathy Morris and Patricia Assumpta will portray six women whose lives were irrevocably changed by events in history.  Jezebel, Grace O'Malley, Mary I, Bridget Bishop, Sarah Graves and Toyko Rose will relate their stories to each other over the centuries.  The audience can determine if each were a saint or sinner.  This production has been sponsored by NYSCA and Phelps Arts Center to be performed in three venues.  The premier will be on October 23 at All Things Art at 65 S. Main St, Canandaigua.  The second and third performances will occur at South Bristol Cultural Center, 5253 Seneca Point Rd, Canandaigua on October 24th and Phelps Arts Center, 15 Church Street, Phelps NY on October 30th.  All performances begin at 7 p.m.  Advance sale tickets save money at $6 for one; 2 for $10.  At the door admission will be $7 for one; $12 for two.  Tickets are available at the venues and online at www.ocarts.org. Proceeds to benefit the arts centers.
