FalconWorks to Present THE SANDY MONOLOGUES

Theater Company will present The Sandy Monologues, an original work using spoken word, song and movement that was inspired by the actual words of Hurricane Sandy survivors. This production, slated for June 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, & 12 of 2016, will tackle issues of race & class by zooming in on the lives of a diverse handful of residents who weathered the freak storm that raged from Hispaniola to the Great Lakes The play owes gratitude to the EMMP Tell Your Story Project interviews and the article 'Race, Class and Disaster Gentrification' by Zoltan Gluck.

Stable Cable Lab Co. raised more than $6,000 to fund the company's upcoming world premiere of In the Event of My Death by Lindsay Joy, directed by Padraic Lillis at its 2016 Spring Soiree (#SoireeDeMayo) in tandem with its online crowd funding campaign on May 5, 2016 at The New Theater Building.  The company's silent auction will continue online through May 19th, 2016 and features exclusive items including an evening with Andy Cohen of 'Watch What Happens Live' in the Bravo Clubhouse, a reading of a manuscript with a professional written evaluation from Lucy Childs of Aaron Priest Literary Agency, a custom monologue written by Lindsay Joy, private yoga and tennis lessons, and more.  For more information and to bid visit www.stablecablelabco.org.

Bayou 'n Brooklyn and Jalopy Theatre bring local talent together with an amazing line-up of Louisiana musicians for three full days of music, dance, workshops, community jam sessions, and food in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Louisiana-born Courtney Granger and Blake Miller are this year's headliners, and to welcome back long time supporter of the festival, Jesse Lege. Also in this year's line-up are Amelia Biere and Darren Wallace. The celebration kicks off with dance hall bands on Friday May 13, 2016 at 8pm, and the party continues until late Sunday night May 15, 2016. This three-day festival takes place at Jalopy Music Theatre (315 Columbia Street, Between Hamilton & Woodhull, Brooklyn, NY 11231). Three-day Weekend Passes are available for $60, and attendees may participate in music workshops in guitar, Cajun Song, Country Song, Cajun fiddle, Cajun accordion and bass for $30 each. His first solo gallery exhibit in New York City, Anand PKC :'A Transcendent Realism' received raves from the New York Daily News and writer Jonathan Goodman, a writer who has contributed to Art in America and Art Critical.
