In January 2025, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Andris Nelsons, presents Beethoven & Romanticism, featuring all nine of Beethoven's symphonies performed in order over four concert programs. This festival will culminate with the stirring performances of Symphonies Nos. 8 and 9, showcasing acclaimed soloists including Amanda Majeski, Tamara Mumford, Pavel Černoch, and Andrè Schuen, alongside the Tanglewood Festival Chorus conducted by James Burton. The program highlights Beethoven's influence through additional free interdisciplinary events that explore his life, music, and legacy.
