A full afternoon and evening of music, activities, and celebrations curated by Yo-Yo Ma, reimagining the grand tradition of Serge Koussevitzky's original Tanglewood on Parade. Highlights include Ma performing Brahms Sextet No. 2 in G, Op. 36 with BSO Concertmaster Nathan Cole, TMC Director and violist Ed Gazouleas, and TMC Fellows, followed by square dancing on the lawn and a grand parade of musicians. The evening concert features the BSO, Boston Pops, and TMCO performing Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 Pastoral without a conductor, plus works by Allison Loggins-Hull, Copland, and Tchaikovsky, with BSO Assistant Conductor Samy Rachid and BSO Principal Flute Lorna McGhee.
